/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware: /usr/lib/vmware/lib/libpng12.so.0/libpng12.so.0: no version information available (required by /usr/lib/libcairo.so.2)
/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware: /usr/lib/vmware/lib/libgcc_s.so.1/libgcc_s.so.1: version `GCC_4.2.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6)
/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware: /usr/lib/vmware/lib/libpng12.so.0/libpng12.so.0: no version information available (required by /usr/lib/libcairo.so.2)
/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware: /usr/lib/vmware/lib/libgcc_s.so.1/libgcc_s.so.1: version `GCC_4.2.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6)
/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware: /usr/lib/vmware/lib/libpng12.so.0/libpng12.so.0: no version information available (required by /usr/lib/libcairo.so.2)
/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware: /usr/lib/vmware/lib/libgcc_s.so.1/libgcc_s.so.1: version `GCC_4.2.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6)

Per fortuna “googlando” ho trovato questa soluzione e modificandola leggermente, adesso riparte :)

$ cd /usr/lib/vmware/lib/
$ sudo mv libpng12.so.0/libpng12.so.0 libpng12.so.0/libpng12.so.0.vmware
$ sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libpng12.so.0 libpng12.so.0/libpng12.so.0
$ sudo mv libgcc_s.so.1/libgcc_s.so.1 libgcc_s.so.1/libgcc_s.so.1.vmware
$ sudo ln -s /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 libgcc_s.so.1/libgcc_s.so.1

Enjoy :-)

  2. Antonio Doldo scrive:

    @spupuz
    nel tuo caso potrebbe essere questo bug di xorg server:
    “hardy, locking assertion failure, xorg/libsdl”

    https://bugs.launchpad.net/xorg-server/+bug/185311

    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libxcb/+bug/185311

    sembra ci sia un workaround:
    $ export LIBXCB_ALLOW_SLOPPY_LOCK=1

    sudo sed -i ‘s/XINERAMA/FAKEEXTN/g’ /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.04/jre/lib/i386/xawt/libmawt.so

    riporta: “solved the problem.”

    io ho per ora 1.0.5 su ubuntu hardy alpha 6 e non ho problemi, vedi:

    http://adoldo.wordpress.com/2008/03/18/vmware-server-105-80187-fix-release-in-ubuntu-hardy-alpha-6/

    Ciao,
    Antonio

    Io stò su Archlinux, ma mi hai salvato lo stesso grazie :)

  4. Antonio Doldo scrive:

    @steno
    credo che i problemi siano più del kernel in uso che delle distro in se,
    grazie anche a te per la testimonianza :)
    Ciao,
    Antonio

  5. Baronkarza scrive:

    Nonostante tutte le prove fatte (ho applicato tutte le patch e i workaround del caso) continua a non funzionare.
    Sempre il solito:
    vmware: ../../src/xcb_lock.c:77: _XGetXCBBuffer: Assertion `((int) ((xcb_req) – (dpy->request)) >= 0)’ failed.
